Taylor Swift has announced that she will release a re-recorded version of her 2010 album, Speak Now, on July 7th, 2023. The announcement was made during her Eras Tour stop in Nashville. In an Instagram post, Swift revealed that the album will feature six previously unreleased tracks.
Speak Now was Swift's third album and featured hit singles such as Mean, Ours, Sparks Fly, and The Story of Us. The album sold over a million copies in its first week, setting a record for the highest number of sales by a solo female country artist. It was also nominated for a Best Country Album Grammy, with Mean winning Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.
Swift announced plans to re-record all of her pre-Lover material in 2019 after her former label, Big Machine, sold her master recordings to Scooter Braun without her consent. She has since released updated versions of her albums Fearless and Red. Although she did not submit Fearless (Taylor's Version) for any Grammys, she submitted Red (Taylor's Version) for consideration in multiple categories for the 2023 awards. Swift won the Grammy for Best Music Video with All Too Well: The Short Film.
In addition to her music career, Swift is reportedly set to direct a feature-length film from her own script, but further details of that project have not yet been announced.
